Attention all storm chasers and weather enthusiasts Radar Scope by Base Velocity, LLC is a must buy.  This radar application isn’t like all the others.  This application gives you the real data that you need to analyze a storm at near real time. 

Radar Scope uses data captured by NEXRAD which is available through the National Weather Service.  This means that the real data updated every time NEXRAD scans.  You can choose from 140 different radar stations throughout the lower 48 United States, which pretty much gets you the weather for almost every place you may visit. 

Another feature that can be helpful is the use of the iPhones GPS locator.  When you use this your location will be marked on the map and will travel as you travel.  You can select from different radar images such as Reflectivity at various tilts and Velocity at Base and Storm Relative. 

Of course you also have the option to animate the images to track storm motion and trajectory.

In my mind this could be one of the best weather apps out there for the weather enthuistist.  I have seen other’s use more animations which typically causes a long delay for updates.  This app takes away all the pretty bling and gives you what you need… and fast.
